Cruises from Athens (Piraeus)

The homeport for Cyclades and eastern Mediterranean weeks.

Attica, Greece

The homeport for Cyclades and eastern Mediterranean weeks.

Athens cruises board at Piraeus, the port southwest of the city center. It is a substantial transfer from the Acropolis area, not a dock at the foot of the Plaka. Our samples use Piraeus for a seven-night Cyclades week and a longer ten-night eastern route that reaches farther, toward the Adriatic side.

Santorini, Mykonos, and a mainland call such as Kusadasi are the reason to start here. If your list is Barcelona, Rome, and the French coast, you are on the wrong page.

  • PiraeusThe port name to give a driver. Athens is the city; Piraeus is the ship.
  • Island weeksThe seven-night sample is the Cyclades pattern.
  • Longer eastern routeThe ten-night sample is for travelers who want more than the two famous islands.

Questions about Athens (Piraeus)

How long is the transfer from central Athens?

Plan on a real drive, not a stroll. The night before in Piraeus or a very early car from Athens are the two workable versions.

Is Santorini a tender port?

Often, yes. The sample says so because the tender, the cable car, or a small boat is part of the day, and some travelers prefer a pier.

Can I add a hotel in Athens?

Yes, and you should if the Acropolis matters to you. This form does not book it. Mention the extra nights in your inquiry.
